Singing Bowl Shop and Vibrational Healing in Arlington, TN · Near Memphis
"Largest retail selection of Tibetan/Nepalese Singing Bowls in the Mid-South"
Our entire world is made up of energy — energy produced from vibration. The very atoms that build our bodies are made of subatomic particles of light, characterized by different vibrational frequencies. Illness and dysfunction are often related to disharmonies in these frequencies. Energy healing and sound/vibration therapies aim to realign these frequencies and restore positive energy flow.
Clients from Memphis, Bartlett, Germantown, and Collierville visit our Arlington spa for gong baths, energy healing sessions, and to explore our unmatched collection of over 100 authentic Tibetan and Nepalese singing bowls.
What Is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is one of humanity's oldest therapeutic traditions. Ancient civilizations — from the Tibetan monastery traditions to Egyptian healing temples to the indigenous shamans of South America — understood intuitively what modern research is now beginning to confirm: that sound, rhythm, and vibration have profound effects on the human nervous system, emotional state, and physical wellbeing.
At Living Health Day Spa, our sound healing practice is led by Cissie Pryor, who became a certified Sound Healing Practitioner in 2014 following an extended journey to Peru studying with indigenous shamans and sound healing masters. Since then, Cissie has built what is widely considered the largest retail collection of authentic Tibetan and Nepalese singing bowls in the Mid-South — over 100 bowls, each personally selected for quality, tone, and healing resonance.
The instruments we use — hand-hammered Tibetan and Nepalese singing bowls, large ceremonial gongs — produce complex, multi-layered tones that are rich in harmonics and overtones. These layered frequencies interact with the body's own bioelectric field and nervous system in ways that produce measurable shifts in physiological state: reduced cortisol, slowed heart rate, altered brainwave patterns, and a profound sense of relaxation and centeredness.
The Science of Vibrational Medicine
Research into sound therapy and vibrational medicine has grown substantially in recent decades. Studies have documented that singing bowl meditation is associated with significant reductions in tension, anxiety, fatigue, and depressed mood. Gong bath participants show reduced blood pressure, slower respiration, and shifts toward alpha and theta brainwave states associated with deep relaxation and creative insight.
The mechanism appears to involve multiple pathways: the auditory system's direct connection to the autonomic nervous system, the physical resonance of low-frequency sound waves through tissue and bone (particularly with bowls placed on or near the body), and the rhythmic, repetitive nature of sustained tones which appears to induce meditative brainwave states through a process similar to entrainment.
For clients who struggle to meditate using conventional techniques — those whose minds are too active to quiet through breath-based meditation — sound healing often provides an accessible pathway into deep meditative states. The sound gives the mind something to focus on and follow, making stillness feel natural rather than effortful.

GongSpell — Gong Bath
The vibration of a gong is a powerful method for reducing stress. Known as a Gong Bath, the gong creates an ocean of sound that is profoundly relaxing — a state which activates the parasympathetic nervous system to balance the over-amped, over-taxed sympathetic nervous system. Like ripples from a pebble on a glassy lake, the gong's sound gently reverberates over, around and through the entire body to calm, relax and soothe. Typically, the listener's heart rate slows, blood pressure drops, and breath is restored to its natural rhythm.
